Air Conditioning
I install air conditioning systems for cooling, heating, or a combination of both.

My speciality is a clean and discreet finish. An indoor unit may remain visible, but I hide pipework and cables as discreetly as possible where the situation allows. That is why I prepare the pipe route in advance and provide a clear, detailed quote.

A Neat Finish Starts With The Design
A good-looking installation does not happen by accident.
Before starting, I look at how the pipework can be hidden, where the indoor and outdoor units are best placed, and how future maintenance can remain as straightforward as possible.
I often spend more time on preparation so the final installation is calmer visually, better finished and more durable. You receive a detailed quote in which all choices are clearly explained. Everything is thought through and clear before work starts.
Facade Finishing
For the outside appearance, the neatest and most natural solution is often to run the pipework through a rainwater downpipe (Ø80 / Ø100 / Ø150 mm) and bring it out near the outdoor units at the bottom.
The following finishes are possible, in order of durability:
- Zinc → the most durable and aesthetic option, blends in well with the house (indicative price about 2× compared with galvanised steel)
- Galvanised steel → strong and reliable, with a slightly more industrial look
- PVC / trunking → technically acceptable, but visually the least refined and less durable in the long term
Outdoor Unit: Accessible And Properly Installed
- Wall-mounted or placed on a concrete base, depending on the situation.
- With attention to vibration, noise and accessibility.
- Enough space around it for maintenance and grounds keeping.
- Always positioned with future service work in mind.
Heating Or Cooling
Modern air conditioners are very efficient heat pumps.
In many homes, they can cover an important part of the heating at low energy cost, while providing pleasant cooling in summer.
When heating is the main goal, I usually recommend a unit from A++ upwards, as this is often more interesting in the long run.
Single-Split Or Multi-Split
- Single-split: one indoor unit and one outdoor unit. Simple, efficient and often the best choice for one room.
- Multi-split: several indoor units connected to one outdoor unit. A tidy solution when several rooms need cooling or heating.
Quality Is Also In What You Do Not See
A lot of the installation work eventually disappears behind walls, trunking or insulation. That is exactly why I pay extra attention to the parts that will no longer be visible afterwards.
All refrigerant pipework and cabling are finished neatly and, where needed, given extra protection. Outside, pipework is protected against sunlight, rain, wind and damage from birds or other outside influences. Careful finishing extends the service life of the installation and reduces the risk of faults.
Details such as the alignment of the outdoor unit, the fixing of the pipework and the neat finishing of all wall penetrations also get the attention they deserve. A quality installation is not only pleasant to look at, but above all reliable for the coming years.
Pipework
All refrigerant pipework is brazed for a durable and leak-tight connection.
During brazing, I run a small amount of nitrogen through the pipe so the inside stays clean and oxidation is avoided.
At the outdoor unit, I use a safe service connection.
The refrigerant pipework is:
- neatly taped
- fitted with protected insulation
- protected against weather and birds
Refrigeration Protocol
Before pipework is finished or hidden, every installation goes through a full technical check:
- Nitrogen pressure test.
- Check for pressure loss.
- Vacuuming of the system.
- Verification of the vacuum level reached.
- Leak check before commissioning.
- Measurements in both cooling and heating mode.
After handover, you receive a measurement report for the installation.
Electrical Connection: Safe And Neat
When installing multi-splits or larger air conditioning systems, it is often necessary to install a dedicated supply line from the electrical panel. I usually also recommend a type A differential switch. Although the French NF C 15-100 does not specifically require this for an air conditioner, a type A is better suited to modern units with power electronics. This provides better personal protection for certain electrical faults.
At the outdoor unit(s), I install a local isolator and an earthed socket as standard. This makes maintenance and service easier and safer. After installation, I check all electrical connections, measure the earth connection and test whether the differential switch trips correctly and quickly.
Core Drilling
Houses in the Ardèche are built in very different ways. Some walls are made from soft natural stone, while others are harder than reinforced concrete. Wall thicknesses of more than one metre are not unusual.
For penetrations, I use professional diamond core drilling equipment. Outside, the drilling is water-cooled; inside, I work dry with dust extraction. This creates a clean and controlled opening without unnecessary damage to the house.

I prefer working with Daikin, Toshiba and Mitsubishi, brands with which I have had excellent experience in reliability, performance and parts availability.
I also install and maintain Panasonic and Hisense systems.
Service After Installation
After handover, I remain available for maintenance, checks and questions about using your installation. For good performance, hygiene and service life, I recommend periodic cleaning and inspection of the system. The first service visit within the first year after installation is included.
